Full platform access during Early Access 🚀

Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Helm AI. They are written to be read, not to be survived. By creating an account or using the platform you agree to them.

Effective 25 August 2026 · Version 2026-08-25 · Questions: helmaiteams@outlook.com

1. What Helm AI is

Helm AI is a marine operating system. It records your vessel and its equipment, keeps your documentation, produces diagnostic and predictive guidance, and helps you find parts, service providers and marine professionals.

Helm AI is software that supports your decisions. It does not survey, inspect, certify or repair your vessel, and it does not replace a qualified marine engineer, a class surveyor or your own judgement as the person responsible for the vessel.

2. Early Access

Helm AI is currently in Early Access. Every feature is provided free of charge and without usage limits to registered users, and features may change, move or be withdrawn while the platform develops. Helm Expert is not yet open: applications are accepted, but no engagement can be booked or paid for today. When it opens, the agreed rate will be shown before you commit and Helm AI will retain a stated platform fee.

Early Access software is provided as-is. Availability, accuracy and completeness are not guaranteed, and no uptime commitment or service-level agreement is offered.

3. Your account

You must be at least 18 years old and provide accurate information. You are responsible for the security of your credentials and for everything done through your account, including by crew you invite.

You may create your account with an email address and password, or with Google or Apple sign-in. Social sign-in is mediated by our platform's authentication broker and the provider you choose; we receive only your identifier and verified email address. If you use Apple's Hide My Email, service email is delivered to Apple's relay address, and disabling that relay will stop our messages reaching you.

You may enable two-factor authentication at any time from your account settings. Administrative accounts are required to use it.

4. Your content and your vessel data

You keep ownership of everything you upload: documents, photographs, manuals, equipment records, maintenance history and logs. You grant Helm AI the permission it needs to store that content, index it, and use it to generate answers, briefs and reports for you and the people you have given access to.

Content includes photographs you attach to a question and voice recordings you dictate, which are processed to produce a transcript or an interpretation.

We do not sell your data. We do not publish your vessel data, and we do not share it with other users, suppliers or service providers except where you initiate a request that requires it — for example sending a quote request to a supplier.

5. Acceptable use

Using Helm AI, you agree not to:

  • attempt to access another account, vessel or partner's data
  • probe, scan or attack the platform outside a written agreement with us
  • upload malicious files, or content you have no right to upload
  • resell, scrape or systematically extract the platform's output
  • use the platform to impersonate a certified surveyor, engineer or authority

6. AI-generated output

Diagnostic conclusions, predictive schedules, part matches, cost estimates and written briefs are generated by AI models from the information available to the platform. They can be incomplete or wrong, particularly where your vessel record is thin.

Helm AI provides decision support, not certified marine engineering advice. Verify critical work with a qualified marine professional, follow the manufacturer's documentation, and never rely on Helm AI alone for anything affecting safety of life at sea.

7. Parts, suppliers, service providers and experts

Helm AI surfaces parts and providers from its own network and from external sources. Except where a provider is explicitly marked as verified by Helm AI staff, listings are presented as found and are not endorsements.

Any purchase, booking, quote or engagement is a contract between you and that third party. Helm AI is not a party to it, does not warrant the work or the goods, and does not hold your funds except where a Helm Expert engagement is processed through the platform's payment provider.

Payment processing for Helm Expert is currently configured in test mode only; no live charge can be taken.

8. Partners

Partner accounts (suppliers, service providers and marine experts) additionally agree to represent their capabilities, licensing and insurance accurately, to respond to customer requests in good faith, and to accept that Helm AI may suspend a partner account where those representations appear to be false.

9. Closing your account

You have two choices in Account Settings, and both are self-service. Deactivation ends access immediately and preserves eligible data in an isolated recovery archive, so your ecosystem can be reconnected if you return and are verified as the owner. Permanent deletion is also available in Account Settings: it deletes your sign-in and your data in the app, is confirmed by typing a phrase, and cannot be undone.

We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, that is used to attack the platform, or where we are required to by law.

10. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Helm AI is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profits or charter revenue, for damage to a vessel or its equipment, or for decisions taken in reliance on AI-generated output. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

You remain solely responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of your vessel.

11. Changes and contact

We may update these terms as the platform develops. Material changes are announced in the app, and continued use after a change means acceptance of the updated terms.
